NEUWERK advises Warburg Pincus on majority investment in Uvex

NEUWERK has advised Warburg Pincus on its acquisition of a majority stake in Uvex, the Franconian family-owned company. The founding families Winter and Grau will remain shareholders.

Founded in 1926, Uvex is a global leader in protective equipment for work, sports and leisure, including safety gloves, X-ray protection and ski goggles as well as bicycle helmets. In the 2023/24 financial year, the company generated revenues of around EUR 666 million. With Warburg Pincus as its new partner, Uvex plans to expand its international footprint, broaden its premium product range and pursue strategic acquisitions.

NEUWERK advised Warburg Pincus on IP/IT, real estate and employment law matters: Börge Seeger, Daniel Schuppmann (IP/IT), Willem Niemeyer, Philip Hackethal, Colin Blumauer (Employment), Philipp Jehle (Real Estate).

Lead counsel to Warburg Pincus was Kirkland & Ellis (Munich). Further advisors included Lenz & Staehelin (Zurich) and EY (Hamburg) for tax matters.
