NEUWERK advises Bayerische Versorgungskammer fund on the acquisition of the “Eiswerk” complex in Berlin

NEUWERK is advising a Bayerische Versorgungskammer fund (managed by Universal Investment in its capacity as an AIFM; the Real I.S. Group is acting as the investment/asset manager) on the acquisition of the “Eiswerk” complex in the Berlin-Mitte district.

Real estate developer Trockland had renovated two existing listed buildings belonging to the former Norddeutsche Eiswerke (an ice producer) and added two new buildings, the construction of which was completed in May.

The “Eiswerk” now consists of four building sections, of which two offer roughly 162,000 square feet of office space and the two others provide around 38,000 square feet of residential space. The Berlin-based real estate developer Trockland was the seller.

The seller was advised on the transaction by PNB Paribas, Freshfields and Brummer & Partner, while TA Europe, Ernst & Young and NEUWERK acted as advisors to the buyer. The NEUWERK team consisted of Dr. Annette Heinz, Felix Eckermann, Jo-Anne Khabiri, Kirsten Seeger and Christin Müller.
